La Habichuela in the Old Town is far and away the best restaurant we found in the greater Cancun area.

See above. There's also a much overlooked authentic place with Yucatan recipes on the southeast corner of the main shoppiong center (Caracol Plaza?) -- can't think of the name right now -- which has terrific Yucatan grilled whole fish, which we found equalled only at a tiny beach hut restaurant (Restaurant Velazquez) out on Isla Mujeres.

> Cajun,

Forget it! Nothing decent, and why would one expect (or even hope) to find Cajun in Cancun? But then I *can* say that, since we're headed to New Orleans on Monday for a week of great food...8;)

Lorenzillos, south of the Plaza on the lagoon side -- right on the water -- is terrific for lunch, and even better at sunset for supper.

Can't help you there -- haven't looked for a burger in Cancun, and doubt if there's a really good one to be found. Hard Rock might be your best bet.

Go to La Habichuela and Lorenzillos. You won't be disappointed. Guaranteed. But if you try the banana fungus dish at La Habichuela, you're on your own. 8;)

Larry
