I guess we'll check out the new home of Tam : O'Shanter... On the basis of two visits, I can say don't bother. Hopefully our experience was just due to transitional flaws, but the food was less than stellar and the service left something to be desired both times. Better yet, try Zaftig's Eatery (in the old KJ's). I know it's a cursed location but I do hope this one sticks because now there's a place for breakfast in Coolidge Corner again. We went for Saturday breakfast and, while pricey, the food was very tasty. It's basically a yuppified KJ's, which is not necesarily negative. I tend to go for the grilled portabello mushrooms, myself. I had the Potato Pancakes, which came with smoked salmon and dill sauce. Pretty tasty, I thought. The hubby (yes, we finally legalized our illicit union!) had the pancakes. The blueberries served with them were great. The pancakes themselves were good but nothing to write home about. Prices are higher than they should be, which was a bit disppointing. Breakfast and sandwich prices ranged from about $6 to $10. Dinner prices take a real jump and range from $9-$15 (I think). It wouldn't bother me too much but I thought my portion was a bit small.. two pancakes, which left me just the teeniest bit hungry. They do have a beer and wine license (transferred from KJ's, I guess). And they serve Dr. Brown's. They do full takeout as well. I'm sure there is some connection to the past ownership there, as the menu is so similar. Decor was really neat, with lots of polished copper. Service was attentive, and the waiters were dressed nicely, which all contributed to the feel that the higher prices are somewhat worth it. We'll definitely be going back! :) Chris
