To summarize the posts and my experience: they have great food, they are snotty, and the best deal is lunch -- which has been served since at least midspring. I remembered when they first opened. I was working late, dressed impeccably programmer shabby, and hoped to try Afghan. (I was at a point in my life where I wanted to sample every country's cuisine.) I didn't have reservations, but it didn't seem that busy, except the maitre'd was out. So I waited, tried this huge comfy couch, read a magazine from the coffee table, expecting I would be seated at some point. I almost took a nap. Finally someone noticed me -- it must have been 30 minutes, and in a snobby tone informed me that reservations would be absolutely necessary that night. I eventually ended up at the food court at the Galleria, truly a world away in taste :(. -- Jim jbaker who is really AT acm.org (and not [email removed] -- just try it, you autospammer!)
