Excellent sushi and extensive cooked food menu. Beautiful decor. Service can be uneven because they insist on hiring Japanese waitresses. Ginza, Chinatown. Expensive. Very fresh fish. Presentations are very beautiful. Some interesting rolls. Smoke in the main dining room is a foot thick. Non-smoking room is only slightly better with worse service. Open very late. Tatsukichi, Financial. Excellent quality. Good, even service. A good solid sushi bar. Tatsukichi rarely disappoints. Popular, but not my favorites: Miyako, Newbury St. Fish is very fresh, but the cuts are sloppy. Rice is occasionally so-so. Service is good, chefs are very friendly. Cooked food is very good here. This was the favorite restaurant of the Boston Sushi Society. Jae's Cafe, Inman Sq. Loud, trendy, crowded, and rushed. You can find lots of unusual rolls here. Preparation is good, but lacks the personal touch. If you want more of a traditional sushi bar, this ain't it. If you want to see and be seen while you eat competent sushi, this may be your place. Gyuhama, Boylston St. More hype than it's worth. Draws a big crowd of people who go for the waitresses in short vinyl skirts. The sushi is really not that good. I've had better sushi in little take-aways. It impresses the tourists, though. Very truly yours, Ms. Margo

As for the others, I would recommend Takeshima because it is as good or better than Gyuhama and you will have an easier time parking there than you would at Gyuhama or Shino.
