Cappaccino's in Coolidge Corner is worth the trip to Brookline

 Just my two cents

Without commenting on the suitability of the restaurant for romance, I`d like
 to point out that there's a Cappaccino's open in Cambridge now, too;
It's on Mass. Ave at Porter Square

By the way, for a long time, Cappaccino's in Brookline had surly waitresses.
Around the time they opened the new one in Cambridge, they fired them all.

But the food is really pretty mediocre.
I just tried it again last week after avoiding
it for 2 or 3 years, and the food has not really
 gotten better.

A better romantic Italian restaurant is nearby
however. Enzo's is near Coolidge Corner --
on Harvard St, about 2 1/2 blocks north of Beacon.
 Slightly more expensive than Cappucino's,
but much better food and a much nicer place.

 Hello:

 1. IMHO, Cappuccino (all three, Newton, Brookline and Cambridge)
will not meet your expectations. Fodd is OK, but they are very
 casual and not romantic.

 2. IMV(very)HO, Cafe Budapest on Copley Sq. would be an excellent
choice, but get ready to shell out $120-160 for a very good diner
 for two with good wine.

 3. Maison Rober (SP?) is another good French rstrnt, expensive

 4. Michela's (rstrnt, not the cafe) is the vest (IMHO Italian
 place around.

 5. Rarities in Charles Hotel was described to me by my very picky
friend as a very good and romantic place to dine.

 6. Why not Legal Seafood in Park Plaza Hotel?
Or Brasserie? Or Bay Tower Room - a little overpriced for its food, but
still very good (free shrimp with a drink weekdays before 5. Dress code),
has an excellent view - may well meet your expectations.

*Let me know, how it comes out. I would especially like to hear your and other
netters' opinion on Rarities - if anyone was there, since I am going to go.

BTW, Jasper's isn't bad. Expensive, though.
Hampshire House is a very quiet and nice place. Their lamb with 3 mustard
 sauce makes me drool.

 Good luck

 Alex
