Review - Thai Moon, Arlington, MA

Our continuing quest to check out restaurants in
Arlington led us to Thai Moon on Friday night.
It is just above Arlington Center on Mass Ave.

The place was packed at 8 pm - we got the last table
open. The decor is lovely and understated. The
services was a bit slow, but friendly and ok with
the place so full and a big take-out business going.

The menu is huge - page after page of choices, so
picking a few items is hard.

We tried the chicken lollipops and shumai. Bother
came with tasty dipping sauces and were fine.

We ordered the tom kar guy chicken coconut soup.
It was a bit heavy on the fish sauce, and watery.
And the chicken was like shoe leather...

We shared the pad thai and the "lover honeymoon"
a sweet and sour chicken and shrimp with veggies
dish. Neither was a success for us - the pad
thai noodles were soggy, not enough peanuts or
shrimp, and the same inedible chicken shreds.
The sauce on the main dish was overly sweet,
and suffered from the chicken as well.

So...I liked everything but the food. I hate it
when that happens. I will probably go back
sometime and order other things and see how that
works...but it is pricey and there are lots of
other choices in Arlington, so it will be awhile.
If you've been there and had something good, let
 me know.
