  Agreed.

My take of good restaurants in Arlington.

Kang Lou / Mongolian (A variation of chinese), excellent
  Ole' / Mexican, excellent
  Sepol / Middle Eastern, excellent
Sweet Chilli / Thai, very good
Barada Cafe / Middle Eastern, good
Chocolate Bar / Icecream, not bad
Village Fish / Seafood Italian, good
Tsunami / Midiocle but cheap Japanese
China Cafe / Chinese, Soup is great!
  New Asia / Chinese, Decent
Flora / Somewhat overpriced but good cuisin

From the theater, Barada and Chocolate Bar are in walking distance.

the best is flora (american/continental) which is on the next block
towards cambridge. across the street is a good middle east place, cafe
 barada.

most arlington restaurants have beer and wine now so byob is not needed
(nor allowed in general). you may not have been in town in a couple of
years but the food scene has change immensely for the better.

 Hi There,

Another place if you like greek pastries and cookies is the
Xaxaroplastian (sp?) just across the capitol theatre. Their
hours are limited (sometimes feels like they are not
interested in doing business) but the stuff is good and
 very reasonably priced....Anant.

No one has mentioned Gala Ristorante yet, one of our favorites. It's about
two blocks from the Capitol Theatre towards Cambridge. They
serve a mix of dishes from southern Europe: Italy, France, and Spain.
Excellent grilled pizzas, veal dishes, paella. Yum.
