Subtly flavoured meats with interesting veg. side dishes. Almost every main course has a well chosen cooked fruit as part of the side dishes and the fruit & custard desert is unbelievably delicious. > > The service has always been very good, the decor is pretty, etc etc. > With the cooler weather, the ambiance of the open hearth bread baking that goes on constantly is very nice and the decor is definitely up for a "special occassion". Helmands must rate as one of the top restaurants in Boston regardless of price. **************** Alternate suggestions (@ $100/person) - Ritz, Four Seasons (etc) **************** The dark horse suggestion: ($50/person) Du Barry on Newbury St My wife and I had Escargot, Fish Soup, Chateau Briand (excellant!), a bottle of Chateau Nuef Du Pape, a creme caramel (flan), a Parfait de Cacao, and a Capachino for $120 (tip included). The meal was first class. Charlie
