For seafood, how about the Barking Crab on Atlantic Ave. near the Children's Museum? The menu isn't exactly creative, but it's fresh and well prepared, modestly priced, and you can sit out on an open-air deck that affords a view of the waterfront. A lively bar scene, too. I've taken several friends and visitors to this place and everyone seems to enjoy it.
