Great beer on tap, great margaritas, and great lemonade in those piss-all-afternoon Mason jars -- why wouldn't I? The lunch combo is available for takeout, and the provided plate is enough to feed two, or stuff one. >>The point is that it's a classic bait-and-switch. So noted. I suppose saying TANSTAAFL won't sway you. Traditionally bars served a great meal at a great price (or had exotic entertainment) to entice people to come in and buy drinks. But I agree if it's mandatory they should say so. >didn't finish my plate last time I was there they offered to wrap the >rest and let me take it home! Something I've never heard of in an all >you can eat place. They seem to actually use common sense. They start with a tremendous plate. I'm a big eater, and the most I've ever had is "Just a few more of this kind of rib". (And they will take requests on the first helping or on take-out.) But there's no sense in throwing out the food either, so if it's not like you're taking a whole meal home to somebody else, what's the harm? (And I have ordered a take-out for someone after having my own lunch combo.) I trust they're making a profit, and they seem to have no problem with volume.

Anything grilled is good! Last time my boyfriend, Eric, and I went there, I had a sauteed squid in garlic and butter for appetizer, and Eric had lamb kabob. Squid was cooked just tender not rubbery; kabob has a rich woodsy grilled taste. I had Chicken breast with broccoli rab(?) with rice for entree (a whole chicken breast with strong woodsy grilled taste too) for $6.50 in lunch menu, i think the entree price ranges from $8 to $12 in the dinner menu; I don't remember what Eric had, but it has polenta in it. We went at about 2:30 in the afternoon, and we ordered from both dinner/lunch menu. I used to be appalled by the sight of polenta (the college cafeteria chef used to cook polenta from a tube in mass quantity), Atasca's fresh polenta totally changed my view. I am eager to go back for another polenta entree. I think there's a small parking lot next to the place. Sorry I can't give you directions as to how to drive there (I don't drive). We walked. Eric said, it's down the street from Glamourama *smile*. -Elizabeth- I am not associated with Atasca Restaurant. I just really love the food.

The place is the Midwest Grill at 1124 Cambridge Street. I think the quality of the meat is better than Pampas, but the atmosphere isn't as great. The churrasco rodizio comes with soup and a (big) salad for the table to share, rather than the Pampas salad bar. It's $14.95/person. They have plenty of other dishes, but we've found the fish dishes to be disappointing. On weekends they have music. If you come on a weekend, get a table in the back or you won't have any conversation. There is free parking behind, but it's a small lot. Watch that speed bump, it's a killer! If you want to do Meat Coma with your friends, this is a great "fun" place to go. Very truly yours, Ms. Margo
