Mike--Check out Stromboli's on the Newton/Watertown/Waltham line. It's (I think) technically in Newton, on North Street. Best goddamn Pizza in Boston! Pizza in Waltham

Does anyone have any suggestions? If you don't like Franca's, you're SOL. That's the only pizza in Waltham that I've found edible. My problem with them is that the bottom of the crust often has a thin layer of ash, but other than that (and that actually isn't that big a deal) I really like their pizza. - Ian
Decent cup of coffee near City Hall? VietFoods, right across Main St. Also Lizzy's on Moody, but it's a bit of a hike. For pizza, my favorite Waltham place is Anna's on Main St. When the tomatoes are in season, their Pizza Margherita is wonderful. The rest of the time, it's just quite good. --Pat
IMHO, Vietfoods' Pho is nothing to write home about. I like them really hearty and spicy hot. I would recommend anything else on their menu - especially their fresh rolls. The consistent thing about this place is that the food is really fresh. I have found that cannot be said of Pho Pasteur all the time. Also, since Vietfoods relocated, the prices have gone up so that it is questionable about going there given the ingredients and portion sizes. Having said that, I will go there if I am desperate and need a fix of something other than subs and sandwiches.
