Eight of us at a Panang on Washington St., Boston, last night. The food is
similar to Thai with overtones of Chinese and Indian, but with very exciting
 differences.

A spring roll had a soft wrapper, was filled with shredded sweet/sour cabbage
and drizzled with two sauces- hoisin and a vinegar/pepper sauce... hard to
stop eating. Another appetizer was made from a pizza sized sheet of paper thin
dough, then collapsed into a deep fryer and served on a plate with a dipping
 sauce. It was not oily.

They have tanks of fresh fish and crabs. The pompano was fried unbreaded and
served smothered with a 5-spice chili sauce.

A squid dish was deeply flavorful in a brown chili sauce, tender and yummy.
Another squid dish had deep fried breaded squares of squid tossed with chopped
raw onions and other raw vegetables and (maybe) a light vinegar sauce.

A chicken in curry sauce was reported to be Satay-like.

A seafood melange was served over a unique and soothingly delicious ring of
yam dough... crisp on the outside, dense and soft on the inside.

Five appetizers, four soft drinks, seven entrees, 6 bowls of rice and one
vegetable dish totalled $100 inc. tax, tip extra.

 Sevice is exceedingly fast.

 Take me back any time.
