While some of us are still mourning the loss of Au Beaujolais in Gloucester, I am happy to say a new restaurant has opened in Beverly which is excellent. Wildhorse is about 2 miles off route 128 on Route 1a not far from downtown Beverly. It is very nicely done, with an art deco appearance and comfortable seating. Unfortunately there is no off-street parking. An eclectic menu of what they term "New American" cuisine utilizing a wood grille by a very creative chef. The lobster with black bean sauce was outstanding, though I agree it doesn't sound that good. Fresh hot breads, nice wine list of reasonably priced selections and an interesting menu. Salads (which are a la carte) were outstanding with fresh local ingredients and a delicious blue cheese dressing. For a place in the suburbs, this restaurant is truly unique as you feel like you are in the big city ! Very moderate prices for the high quality here. This is a place you want to go on a weekly basis! John Gallagher [email removed]
