Nearest good Indian food to Arlington Heights?

What's our nearest good choice for Indian food? Do we have to go all the
way to Somerville or is there anything in Arlington, Belmont, Lexington,
Burlington, Woburn? The phone book yielded no clues.

There's a little takeout place near us at 1300+ Mass Ave near the bus
barn. They have extremely good samosas, quite nice tandoori chicken and
drab grey boring vegetarian dishes with overcooked rice. My SO eats
vegetarian and shrimp dishes so this place doesn't work for us.

 Is *anything* else hiding anywhere????

 thanks Betsy

Have you tried Bangalore in Winchester Center? Might be a bit closer (and
less traffic) than Somerville. I've only eaten there twice - seemed to me
to be at least as good as the other Indian places I've eaten in Cambridge
and Waltham. It's probably somewhat more expensive, though.

Oh, also has nice decor etc if you're gonna eat there. (Its in the location
that used to house Narai Siam, also noted for nice atmosphere).

I just ate again at the Indian restaurant at the Burlington Mall Food Court.
It is very good! Deeply distinctive flavors between the various dishes, lots
of specialty breads, not greasy, plenty o' spice if you choose spicy dishes...
obviously not the place to go for a social evening, but perfect if your
children and you have divergent dining requirements.

Yet again I bore the group with the same old post...

If you liked the south indian food at Bombay Mahal (on sunday mornings). You
will LOVE the food at Udupi Bhavan (in Ashland on Rt. 126 just across the
line from Framingham, next to the Market Basket).

They also do some of the more "typical" north indian dishes, I assume that
they are good too, but have not tried them.

It is all veg food. Get there before 6:30 on Friday and Saturday nights,
closed on Tuesdays. Sometimes crowded on Sunday afternoons.

 Same old boring rant.

And no, I have no affiliation, just want them to stay in business, and let
 people eat great food.
