For TexMex I'd suggest The Border Cafe. For "authentic" Mexican (Yucatan
Penninsula, I think) I would suggest Mexican Cusine on Mass. Ave. in
Cambridge. For good southwestern New Mexico-style Mexican, I like Sierras
on Route 117 in Sudbury. It's may be the only place I know around Boston
that serves possole. If you need to stay downtown, I like Sol Azteca -
though it's more "Spanish-style" mexican, if that makes any sense.

I think you mean Mexican Cuisine, not Forest Cafe.

Boca Grande (same basic area) is also good, but more of a burrito joint.
(cheap, but not much variety or quantity)

Hmm...don't know what you mean by "not much variety", but they have
more than your average "burrito joint". When was the last time that
you ate at a burrito joint that served black bean soup, homemade
tamales of several varieties, elote, and flan?

There is a very authentic taqueria in Waltham. Look at the big Boston
restaurant list for the name. They have menudo, which is the ultimate sign of
authenticity. Inept service, slighltly seedy area, but delicious. It is
 called Taqueria Mexicana, on sec
 ond thought.
