Indian in Boston

For some reason, the best Indian restaurants are in Cambridge.

Haven't done Indian in a while, but my favorite was always the Tandoor
House. They recently moved a few blocks down Mass Ave and are now
situated in Central Square (Cambridge). Anyone tried them since the
move?? I was impressed with the perfect blend of very fresh spices
 and the not-overly-heavy sauces.

My experience with Bombay club was OK, but nothing to get excited
 about.

Shalimar in Central Square used to be pretty good, too.

 Enjoy,

They are still very good. I found their Vindalu to be purely spicy the
evening I tried it, without the intricate spices I would have hoped for.

I have to admit to being in the minority here. I think that Bombay Club is
mediocre at best. I have only tried it for lunch, off the menu and off the
buffet. The blandness has been a bit staggering every time!

I think that one of the most overlooked Indian restaurants in Cambridge is
Passage to India, on Mass. Ave. in Porter Square. They were recently closed
for several months following a fire, and when they re-opened afterward, many
of the recipes seem to have changed. It was still head and shoulders above
most of what I've had around here, though. If you like the way they handles
spices at Tandoor House, you'll probably find some real gems here too.

 Bon Appetit!
