No beer. I second the recommendation, however - this place has great
authentic simple Mexican food. The couple that runs it used to own a
restaurant in Brownsville, which is as close to Mexico as you can get
without being in Mexico. The only drawback to this place is that it's
a hassle to get there without a car.

A new player in town, and my current fave, is Palenque in Somerville, at 300
Beacon St. They serve Mexican food, not Tex-Mex (having spent a year in
Texas, I think I can tell the difference now). The salsa served with
complementary chips is fresh and better than any other I've had in Boston
(Sol Azteca, Casa Mexico, El Phoenix Room - not recommended). Their mole
and salsa verde are also excellent.
