Oh- and how could I have forgotten Anna's Taqueria on Beacon Street and
another at JFK Crossing (on Harvard Ave) in Brookline. Quesadillas to
 die for!

This is going to have to be brief, because I am typing this
from the public library in Conway NH (I'm up here taking a
class at SOLO) and the librarian is going to call time on
 me shortly, but...

Bawarchi, Kenmore Square -- Indian food, lunch buffet. If
you're tired of the usual buffet but you like Indian food,
this one is worth a try.

Chinatown Eatery, Chinatown -- not for the faint of heart
or those given to imagining that ethnic restaurants are
all inherently dirty. For others, you can get a wide
variety of very tasty food for less than $6.

Sushi Express, St. Mary's, Brookline -- Several lunch
specials in the $5-7 range, this amount would also buy
a couple of maki and a nigiri or two (depending on type),
 or a bowl of udon.

Baja Betty's, Brookline Village, Brookline -- Burritos
bigger than your head, with fresh tasty ingredients
 and a great salsa bar.

Taqueria La Mexicana, Union Square, Somerville -- The
 real deal for cheap.

Pho Pasteur, Allston -- the main event is still <$7
 a bowl.

 Anyone else?
