Ming Garden in Chestnut Hill. Call and let them know that it is a special
occassion and they should do you proud. It is owned by a group of
Hongkong Chinese who to my mind (being the daughter of one) are 1) the
pickiest about food and 2) do the best "special occassion" food. I have
had sublime Cantonese Lobster there. Plus Chestnut Hill is nice and for
entertaining people "nice" and parking are rather valuable. As much as I
love my hometime China Town to the out of towner especially those
familiar with either New York or San Francisco - not to mention Hong
Kong - Boston China Town does not rank high in the ambiance scale.

If China Town it must be and if seafood is to feature my family including
the recent Hongkong ones really like the East OCean City on Beach Street.
 Again the emphaisis is Cantonese.

Congrats! and best wishes for a happy and healthy married life!

Chinese seafood: East Ocean City Beech Street China Town
Burgers: Bartley's Burger Hut across from Wiedner library at Harvard.
 Trully awesome onion rings

Ice Cream: Herrell's Harvard Square the original Steve's (Steve Herrel:
 bring a big appetite!)

East Coast Bar and Grill Inman Square Cambridge: funky and fun (granted
have not been there in a while)

Lock Ober's : Never had liver and onions that I liked until I went there
and actually saw Tip O'Neil which was fun. The food is old world and the
 atmosphere very Brahmin

Some other ideas on the inexspensive side: The Elephant Walk in Union
Square Somerville (just n. of Cambridge) Cambodian/French

Dali's outside of Harvard Square: Spanish
Pampas: Brazilian on Mass Ave between Harvard and Central Square. You
must like meat to go here. They serve the meat on swords. Not for the
 cholesterol shy.

I like Legal and always have...It's good it is dependable but for my
money it is exspensive ( I am new to the "real world")

Bartley's the Burger place is trully an institution. When I was not
living in Boston - I just moved back after being away for 6 years- I
always went to bartley's and then followed it up with Herrell's. Granted
I did not eat dinner that day either.....
