Michela's has closed. Michela Larson and Jody Adams have moved
their operation to a new restaurant, called Rialto, in the Charles
Hotel in Harvard Square. There is a new restaurant called Salamander
in their old space which is supposed to be very good (I haven't been).

I can suggest Olives (Charlestown, Mediterranean), Figs (Charlestown
and possibly Beacon Hill by now, pizza and pasta), Elephant Walk
(Somerville and also Boston/Brookline line, Cambodian/French),
Grand Chau Chow (Chinatown, Chinese--seafood especially), and
Alloro (North End, Italian/Mediterranean) off the top of my
head. Frankly, I would take Alloro over the aforementioned
Giacomo's anytime, and I have also heard good things about
Pomodoro, which is right down the street.

I would also suggest locating Ellis Cohen's Whole Boston Restaurant
List, which is a great resource. It is available by anonymous ftp
 at ftp.cc.umanitoba.ca in the directory
 rec-travel/north_america/usa/massachusetts
 as
 boston-restaurants.ellis
or it is also on the web at URL
 http://www.osf.org:8001/boston-food/boston-food.html

There are many good restaurants, and if you wand to be more specific
about price range, cuisine, etc., I would be glad to come up with
 more suggestions.
