Boston Area Wedding Reception

A few months ago my fiancee and I posted several requests asking
for suggestions of a Boston area restaurant in which to hold a small
wedding reception. A number of people suggested "La Groceria"
(an italian restaurant on 853 Main, next to Toscannini's ice cream
in Cambridge). Well, that's where we settled on, and in a word,
 it was fabulous.

We had 45 people for a lunch time reception. We were put in a
wing of the restaurant by ourselves, so although they were serving
lunch to other customers, we never saw them. Two waitresses were
assigned to us and they were incredibly efficient and friendly.
If anyone wanted something, they got it almost immediately. Food arrived
promptly, and it was all delicious and plentiful. Best of all, it was
very cheap for the Boston area. With wine, champagne, tax, and tip,
everything came out to $41 per person. This was much cheaper than
all the hotels and reception halls we had considered. Plus, we had
a much wider selection of food than we were offered elsewhere (7 entrees-
La Groceria was willing to offer more variety, but my fiancee and I
decided ourselves to limit the number so we could print out a special
"wedding menu"). Oh, we also had Toscannini's deliver an ice cream
wedding cake (which many guests told us was the best wedding cake
 they've ever had...).

Overall, we were extremely pleased with the experience, and we
would highly recommend "La Groceria" to anyone planning a reception
in or around the Boston/Cambridge area.
