Ah...
* the Robert Morris Inn, Oxford - wonderful food, incredibly
romantic setting, not inexpensive but worth it; not open in dead of winter - call!
* the last place on the left before the city pier in Crisfield -
wonderful food, inexpensive, real, local

The town dock in St. Micheals is very good, new chef real good up-scale food, but some of the original items from the menu. Further past St. Micheals on the road to Tilghman Island is a place called Chesapeake Landing. They are more of a local place but great crabs and seafood. They also have a seafood carry out attached where you can buy crabs, crab cakes , etc to take home. On Tilghman Island (sp) there is a very old restaurant called Harrisons. It has been there for years and servers good country food, kind of old fashioned but great food. Mark
The Chesapeake Landing is great, as stated in one reply: really a local place with a fish market attached. My sister and I are making our semi-annual one day drive to St. Michaels tomorrow (this time it's for holiday shopping) but after we hit the stores, the museum, and probably the Carpenter Street Saloon, we'll run out the Tighlman Road to Chesapeake Landing to pick up some cream of crab soup, maybe some shucked oysters, etc. to take home. We've never been disappointed there. No fancy stuff, just good food. Carpenter St. Saloon is good, too, but my sister is convinced that the Robert Morris Inn over in Oxford has the best crab cakes. Take the ferry over, if you're coming from that side. It's a nice ride. The Town Dock used to be a favorite place of ours, but we aren't crazy about it so much any more. Actually, I think they switched the names around and the place that was the Town Dock is the Crab House. Without going over the Bay Bridge, there was a good place in the Kent Narrows ... actually, I think it was called the Narrows. I had the most sublime rockfish with oysters there. Anyway, go to the E.S. often, and eat well ... oh wait a minute ... don't forget to stop in Chestertown ... haven't been there in several years, but there's bound to be someplace good there!
RE: Kent Narrows over the Bay Bridge. Yes, it is. I'll bet the place referred to was the Fisherman's Inn, just off Exit 42 of Rte 50/301, at the old Drawbridge. Good food, neat model trains. JP" We used to go to the Fisherman's Inn many years ago. It was great. But they expanded their operation, and now it has become a mass production type place. I much prefer The Narrows, which is right next to the old drawbridge. They have a delicate touch with the seafood. I love their crab pizzas, even though the crust seems to be something like Boboli. ----------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------- "HA!
