I like Bo Brooks, on Boston St. Exactly the type of place you're looking for.

Ernie's Crab House in Alexandria (within the DC Beltway) is exactly that kind of place, but it would be about a 2-3 mile cab ride from the King Street or Braddock Road metro stops. I dunno anything about bus routes.
