Best lobster roll I've found in the Kennebunkport area,
or in all of Maine actually, is the Cape Porpise Lobster
Company in the village of Cape Porpise, just north of
Kennebunkport. They toast a buttered, old fashioned
hot dog roll, pack it with fresh lobster moistened
with mayo and don't use any salad filler. It's right
on an inlet, scenic coast of Maine view. No seating,
though. You'll have to picnic on the hood of your car.

The Clam Shack, at the bridge leading into Kennebunkport
serves what is, for me, a non classic lobster roll, on
a round bun - butter instead of mayo if I remember
correctly. But it still tastes good. However, the
thing to get at the Clam Shack is fried clams. Have
      a pint for me.

There'a a great place on U.S. Route 1 in Scarborough.VERY imexpensive for lunch and great seafood..It is called Anjon's...It is south of Portland (between Kpt and Freeport)..nothing much to look at from the outside, but very popular among the locals..(I used to be one of them, but have since moved to CT).
