Based on our experience vacationing along the Maine coast last June its almost impossible to get a bad meal there. I can personally recommend Cappy's Chowder House at 1 Main St in Camden and The Weathervane Restaurant on the waterfront at Main St in Belfast. Those are the only two restaurants we ate at in that area but if you are interested in other areas from Bar Harbor down to Ogunquit let me know.
Hope you have as much fun as we did

I'm trying to remember the name of the place ... but it's not in Camden .. it'sin Belfast - about a 20 minute drive north up the coast from Camden. Directions are simple ... to the center of town - turn right - down the hill and over the tracks to the shorefront restaurant. Food was excellent and the prices great.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Le Domaine, a fine French restaurant with a few rooms for staying over is not far up the coast from Camden and Bar Harbor. The wine cellar there, which has been laid down over many years, is particularly strong.
I suggest you stop in for a meal at "Maidee's" rright on the main drag, near The Grasshopper Shop. I ate there 2 weeks ago and it was fabulous, I could have ordered a dozen things that looked great. But we shared and all the food was excellent. It is run by an oriental lady, but she makes all kinds of great stuff, including some cajun influence. I was really pleasently pleased to find such a place in little Ellsworth. It is in the neat old building too, it feels like an old diner when you walk in, but hidden in the rear is a nice seating area for a bit more formal dining. Relaxed and fun and a great find!
