Any hidden treasures not advertised to the tourist > public? Lots of them. But I don't know exactly what you're looking for. Tom Fitzmorris is an independent food critic in town. His reviews and suggestions are trustworthy. See them at: http://foodfest.neworleans.com/ Most music venues don't post who's playing until a couple of weeks in advance. I can suggest Donna's, Dragon's Den, Famous Door, Funky Butt, House of Blues, Maple Leaf Bar, Tipitina's . Look them up before you come: http://www.neworleans.com/cgi-bin/oracle/hs.cgi?search=CAT&Category=LOCALS:Bars%20Nightlife%20Music%20Listings > I understand that New Orleans is notorious for having festivals and > parades. Are there any festivals in September? Most festivals in September are outside of New Orleans.
