One of my favorite hole in the wall places is Frankie and Johnny's. Go to Mandina's on Monday for red beans and rice with the panned veal. Neither of those places are near the Westin though. Any Brennan's restaurant is also a sure thing. If you are ever on Carrolton Ave, Streetcar PoBoys is excellent. The Rock & Bowl on Carrolton is a truly local and fun place to go and dance to bands. I could go on and on and I'm getting very jelous of your trip!! Molly B
