here are my recommendations for eateries in the big N.O.
  1. seafood/grilled fish: Charlie G's in Metarie. try the
fried crawfish cakes or fried crab cakes

  2. po-boys: streetcar po-boys. i believe it is located in
the 4300 block of carrollton. the smoked crab po-boy was
     voted best of N.O.

  3. cajun: try mulate's. i don't know their location.

**side note:: drinks: a mint julep at Pat'Os.
while watching the world go by.

Better choice! Streetcar makes a po-boy called "The Peacemaker" that's half shrimp, half oysters, cheese and bacon on buttered french bread. Wonderful. The name comes from the days when men would make their stop in the Storyville district to visit the ladies of the evening, and would pick up one of these sandwiches for their wives as a peace offering...

Nah, the Mulate's here in town is only a shadow of the one out your way. Try Michaul's or K-Pauls in New Orleans.

Only if it's the weekend of the Kentucky Derby! The drink of Pat O's is the hurricane, of course. Mint juleps are *not* a New Orleans drink.
