Wilmington Restaurants

Though I live in New Jersey, I have been going to school in Wilmington, Delaware for four years now. During those years, being the avid food connoisseur that I am, I have had the pleasure of eating at many of Wilmington's finest restaurants, as well as some real pits, and I would like to share some of my experiences with you now.
For a good ol' American hot dog, there is only one place to go - Deerhead Hot Dogs. Now, you can order the plain dog and add some pizazz to it by using ketchup, mustard, relish, what have you. I do not recommend this. What puts this place on the map is the Deerhead Everything Dog, with their special secret sauce. I have been baffled by this wonderful concoction for years, and the only things I can discern are mustard, onions, and horseradish, but, oh, there is so much more! Deerhead cheesesteaks used to be the best as well, but for the past two months, the steaks have been especially greasy, and the excess of grease has turned me off to their steaks for awhile.
For the primo in Italian dining, Mrs. Robino's on Union Street has the nod. I highly recommend the pizza sticks for an appetizer with either the chicken or veal parmagiana for the entree. As was the case for Deerhead Hot Dogs, the special sauce is what sells this place and what makes people come back again and tell their friends about it. The sauce has a genuine biter to it, something that sticks with you for hours. It is the antithesis to watery sauce which appalls me. The Spumoni at Mrs. R's is also quite a lovely pice of work.
For Mexican dining, I recommend none other than La Tolteca on Rt.
202. I drool at the mere thought of the chicken nachos which are smothered in a sharp yet soft, warm cheese and delectable chicken chunks. I also recommend the Chimichanga which is quite a memorable experience.
Finally, Beijing restaurant, formerly Ming Gardens, is the tops for Chinese Cuisine. I never fail to order the skewered beef and at least one egg roll. My favorite entree is the Lake Tung shrimp, which is unquestionably the best platter on their menu. Large, soft shrimp covered in egg whites with peas in the pod, broccoli, and mushrooms compose this delicacy.
