I recommend the Old Spagehetti Factory located on 3rd and Market in downtown Louisville (which I happen to be the kitchen manager). Every thing is made fresh daily right down to the fresh ground sirloin for our meatballs. The price is right also, with the average entree under $10. The atmosphere is excellent including a trolley parked inside the rest. Horse and buggey rides in the afternoon also. Louisville is full of great restaurants, including plenty in your price range. Try Mo'Flav' and Allo Spiedo on Frankfort Avenue. Also, you might want to take a look at the Iglou Louisville Restaurant Guide on the Web, http://www.iglou.com/lou/restaurants/eats.html, which links to the Louisville Magazine (Web Edition) Restaurant Guide, http://www.louisville.com/loumag/. Both of these guides are consumer-oriented (no freebies, no payoffs), written by journalists who dine anonymously. -- Robin Garr, Associate Sysop CompuServe Wine and Beer Forum GO WINEFO - GO BEER [email removed] / [email removed] From [email removed] Tue Sep 3 14:18 EDT 1996 X-Sender: [email removed] Mime-Version: 1.0 To: [email removed] Subject: Re: Best BBQ near Opryland Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Length: 638 At 12:17 PM 9/3/96 GMT, you wrote: >My wife will be attending a conference at the Opryland Hotel. It's a great place and it's in Nashville. If you have time to kill and want to drive a while go up 31E to Just outside Glasgow, Ky and eat at Barren River Sports Center, it's a bait shop but they got a helluva shoulder plate for $4.50 / bucks. Or might meander down to Bowling Green Ky and stop at the Smokey Pig on the Bypass.......Good Eating, GG The Well of Souls
