For a traditial Roman-Jewish meal in a 17th Century Palazzo go to Al Pompiere, via S. M. del Calderari, 38 (upstairs). 06/686377 closed sunday. Try the deep-fried artichokes. Opulant atmosphere, great food, not too pricey: <US$40 per person.

If you like East African/Ethiopian food, you must go to Ristorante Africa, north of Termini. They have awesome food and very friendly people. It was recommended to me by someone on the 'net and it was great. Bring cash though, no credit cards.
