Cynthia: There is a little restaurant run by an Abruzzese family about 3 blocks east of the main train station called Al Varesino. It is directly accross the street from a hotel called Hotel Venezia at via Varese 16. All of the food is home made and many people from the neighborhood eat there. It was recommended by our hotel desk clerk and we ate there twice (2 years ago). Simple food and very inexpensive for Rome.Much Italian food fits your needs for vegetarian cooking (Only our american preparation of Italian food relies a lot on meat). Buon viaggio e buon apetito!
