I traveled in Ireland a few years back, and some of my favorite moments were on Dingle Bay...

[email removed] (Janis Lane) asked about food in Dingle, Killarney, and Shannon. I can't recommend anything specific, but I do recall that tremendously good fish and chips could be had in Dingle Town. Once you get out on Dingle peninsula, there's lots of beautiful sights, but not much food. I do recall one "roadhouse" on the south-to-north side of the circle that goes around the peninsula, starting and ending in the Town. Looked interesting, but we were on a very tight budget. Make *absolutely* sure that you get around the whole circle; some of the most beautiful coastline in Ireland (and the world!) is there, including the island tat looks like a "Sleeping Giant". Rent a bike!

Killarney also has some very nice places. Perhaps it was the ubiquitousness of the Guiness, but I don't recall any names there either. I can tell you that the "pub-grub" ranged from fair to bad. Look for the small eating places with few tables and a spot off the beaten track. You will have to ask around, but remember that talking is a national passtime in Ireland!

Have fun; I'm jealous!
