There are currently three Indian restaurants here in Indianapolis. The Star of India, 1043 Broad Ripple Avenue (with a new branch in Castleton on the far north side of the city), Ph 317-465-1100 has won the readers' poll in the local slick monthly magazine. A better choice might be the India Palace, 4213 Lafayette Road, Ph 317-298-0773 on the west side of town. If you talk with them, they will bring out some of the really good stuff. Additionally there is a good Indian grocery two doors away in the same strip mall. A final choice, in the same neighborhood as the Star of India, is the India Garden, 830 Broad Ripple Avenue, Ph 317-253-6060. I don't think you will be insulted by the offerings of any of the three; however, none go beyond the usualitems found on American menus.

There are three Indian restaurants that I know if in Indy:

-India Garden on Braod Ripple Ave. I've been told that it's the best in town.

-Star of India also on Broad Riplle Ave, farther east from College Ave. Also very good.

-India Palace on the west side (Lafayette St.?).
