Try Renee's French Delicatessen and Restaurant at 839 E. Westfield Blvd. in Broad Ripple. Call (317) 251-4142 for reservations. Their desserts are excellent, so save room.

Also there's Chez Jean in Camby on the far SW side at 8821 S. State Road 67. Call (317) 831-0870 for reservations. Chez Jean has been around since 1957, and will prepare special desserts with advanced notice. Fruits de mer fans may try the Vol au Vent D'Homard.

For seafood, try Rick's Cafe Boatyard on the NW side at Eagle Creek Reservoir, 4050 Dandy Trail. Call (317) 290-9300 for reservations. Both Peter's and the Malibu Grill in the Keystone at the Crossing area on the northside will have good seafood too.

If you want to stay downtown, and can get reservations, try the California Cafe in the new Circle Centre. Parisian Ct., 3rd level. (317) 488-8686. Call early. This is the hottest new restaurant in Indy (IMHO).

Other somewhat lesser (IMHO) downtown seafood alternatives are the Key West Shrimp House, Norman's, and Rick's Cafe Americain, all in Union Station. There's the Majestic at 47 S Penn too.
