Okay,

Chinese: South side Chinatown, Hong Min for luncheon/DimSum
"65" for dinner. Stay away from 3 Happiness; too
derivative and touristy. Emperor's Choice ? Too
expensive for exactly the same kind of food
         served at most other places.

Safest Bet ? Any place with a separate menu for
the Chinese customers. Avoid any menu that looks
         like you typical take-out menu.

German
Brats & Beer: Not many left in Chicago. You could try
one or two that are on Lincoln & Giddings
(4600 N Lincoln) or one that I kinda remember
on 6200 N Clark (Golden Bear)

Jazz N' Stuff: Andy's Place. Jazz I think. On Kinzie
near State St. Right next doors to Shaw's
Crab house. Start with Seafood and go next
               doors for Jazz.

When you show up, grab a copy of the READER for niteclubs and happenings. Also the NEW CITY. Both are free "alternaive" publications.

Hey, if you like Vietnamese food, you can go to Chinatown #2 which is Argyle St. Directly west of the Lake and conveniently off of Lake Shore Drive.
