It looks like a hole in the wall, with blinds in the : windows, a nondescript storefront and no outside decoration... : but when you walk in, you see a cozy classic Italian restaurant : with brick and wallpaper walls, framed artistic photos of Italy, : a Pavarotti poster, a full bar, a generous nonsmoking room, a smoking room : and Italian opera playing quietly throughout.

I certainly would not say this was the best Italian that I ever had (altho up the street from there is teh _worst_ Italian that I've ever had at a resturant). The food ws good (the company was _much better ;-).

Actually, I would recommend 2 other places - there's a little Italian place up on Clark in andersonville (someone help with the name here)... very nicely decorated, great food. Not as romantic as Anna Maria's, but very nice.

In the 'burbs I'd suggest Garado's (I KNOW I spelled that wrong)... It's in a little strip mall on the corner of Ogden and Royal St. George in Naperville. The food is great, neat little atmosphere, and the wine list is a _book_, with (as I have been told) some really wonderful choices.

Anyhow there are a few more choice for y'all... :-)
