King Crab is still on N. Halsted. Haven't been there is a few years so can't advise you as to how good it is.

Bob Chin's Crab House in Wheeling ( a suburb north of Chicago) is considered by most to be the best seafood restaurant in the Chicago area. Considering the huge crowds of people who flock here daily, he must be doing something right! No reservations except for large parties and plan on a long wait unless you get there very early or late. Large portions of very fresh seafood done simply served with fries, boiled potatoes or rice. Also has a salad bar for a nominal extra charge.

I also would recommend Shaw's Crab House located downtown. The Cape Cod Room in the Drake Hotel used to be the number one place in the city but went downhill awhile ago. It has received good reviews lately but I haven't been there in a long time so can't say. Otherwise, get Chicago Magazine when you get in town or a copy of Zagat's Guide (I think you can find Zagats on the Internet at Pathfinder's location, but I'm not sure of the exact address)

Have a great time in Chicago.

If you take the word "CRAB" and substitute one letter, that's what King Crab food is like.

Best new seafood restaurant is Starfish on North Ave East of Damen. Don't expect Red Lobster -- It's primarily non-shellfish fish.

I would second Shaws, BUT eat at the Blue Crab oyster bar section. I think the food is as good in a more relaxed bar setting with cheaper pricing.

Santorini in Greektown is excellent Med. seafood.
