But if I must, I will suggest: 1. Scoozi on 410 West Huron in the River North Area. (Huron just west of Orleans) This bustling Urban Italian place is great for bread and circuses. The food is adventurous and high quality. The room is truly beautiful as are the clientelle. Its almost like you are in a movie setting. I was there recently for their Tomato Festival. We enjoyed a full menu which featured exotic tomatoes. They also have a great chicken breast stuffed with goat cheese. I like their thin appetizer pizzas. Their special Menu always has many great offerings. They feature pasta, chicken and fish. There is little if any red meat on the menu. Don't miss the appetizers. In fact you could make a meal of an assortment of them! 2. The Blackhawk Lodge - American (?) (also river north, but unsure of address)- I can't really describe the ambiance of this place. Its not elegant but it is classy. You can wear jeans and still get a gourmet feast. They feature wood grilled food. beef, chicken and fish. They always have at least three fresh fish entrees on their special menu. The entrees are a good value because they usually include a starch and veggie on the plate. Their bread basket is especially notable. There are warm flaky biscuits and rolls and crusty slices of bread. They serve sweet butter, honey and fresh preserves that are outstanding on the bread. The buscuits will knock you over they're so good. Try to restrain yourself for the rest of the meal. During the summer they have a screened porch room that is pleasant for al fresco dining. My husband and I took our inlaws here. We enjoyed it so much and wanted to try so many things off the menu that we returned by ourselves the following weekend and we talked about it the whole week in between. Well these are just two of so many, I also like The Eccentric (some know it as Oprahs restaurant but she really doesnt have too much to do with it beside lending her name. Its familiar food with an asian flair - very good most of the time. I had a bad experience with the prime rib once. Try the chicken potstickers.
