I'll post... this has been discussed before, but people are probably still hungry....

There are several possibilities.

1) CHINATOWN.

I'm not sure what happened to Chiam, but the most well known place in
Chinatown for dim sum is Three Happiness, which is at the NW corner of
Wentworth and Cermak. They serve every day between (I think) 11:30
and 2:30. I'm sure they are listed in Chicago Magazine's Dining
Guide. My personal complaint is that they have too much fried stuff,
and not enough steamed stuff, but that's just luck of the carts, right?

There are other restaurants serving dim sum along Wentworth south of
Cermak, but I don't have any particular recommendations. Anyone?

2) "NEW" CHINATOWN

Actually, the area near the intersection of Broadway & Argyle has a
mixture of Chicago ethnicity. There are also several good Vietnamese
   resturants in this area.

My favorite place for dim sum in the city is Furama, which is on the
SW corner of Broadway & Argle. They serve every day, and seem to have
more steamed buns (my favorite) than Three Happiness. I believe that
during the week you must order from a menu.

3) BURBS

There are several resturants in the suburbs which serve some dim sum
on weekends, usually in the form of a combination plate or by ordering
from a menu. I'd like to hear recommendations for particularly good
ones. An OK one that has the advantage of being near my house is
Golden Chef in Wheeling (on Milwaukee Avenue, north of Palatine
and south of Dundee). Again, anyone?

Hope this helps.
