Not too sure about the Austin area, but if you're willing to travel East a little bit, try Grota buffet on Central just south of Belmont (next to the bowling alley). It's where the locals eat. If you want something a bit fancier, try Lutnia on Belmont just East of central. Good food, but you feel out of place without a tie on. There's also that new place that moved into the vacated Pagoda, right across the street from the parking garage. Eastern Polish and very basic but good. Huge portions, too.
