Lulu's Dim Sum and Then Sum in downtown Evanston has many varieties of "Small Eats" on their menu at lunch as well as dinner. They have wonderful crispy wontons filled with shrimp served with a sweet & spicy dipping sauce. We also like their shao mai, rice balls with red bean filling, and shrimp dumplings. There's a "big eats" menu, as well, including some yummy green salads with strips of beef or chicken with a ginger dressing and a couple of soups that are ha-YUGE! Don't know if that meets your definition of dim sum, but it's quite tasty!

Not really, but then I usually go there for their Sunday "Munch-a-Bunch", where you pay about $12, and they bring you anything off the menu that you want, in any quantity (half orders are available of some items). The individual dishes aren't that expensive either, really.
