There is a fairly large Korean population there. Also further down Lawrence past whatever is Route 41 there. I remeber about 6 different Korean Buffets in that area (I was lost, looking for a friends apt.). There used to be a 24 hr Korean place someplace. Up north, there is the Ariana on Lincoln N of Touhy, and the World Buffet on Golf and Milwaukee in Niles. Every Asian buffet I've been in is willing to cook something for you if you know how to ask.

I don't remember what it was called, but it was very good. Sorry to be so vague; it was my first experience with Korean food. Jamie

Another good spot is Seo Hae, one of the few places that still uses real charcoal grills to cook at-table. Most other places use gas. Their grilled meat dishes are as good as any I've had at any Korean restaurant. I also like the cold sliced skate in chili sauce, though I'm sure this wouldn't be to everyone's taste. The assortment of little dishes that come along with dinner is better than at most places.
A funny story: a few years ago a friend and I went there at about 9:30 and were told that the restaurant closed at 10. Since we only wanted a simple dinner, we figured this would be no problem. The food showed up 15 minutes later and in another 15 minutes, when we weren't even half-finished, they came by to tell us they were closed (meaning that we should leave). We couldn't really get too upset because they did warn us beforehand. I've been back a number of times but I always make sure to get there early!
