I went to see "Antony and Cleopatra" and the new theater on Navy Pier and decided to check out Joe's Be-Bop Cafe. I certainly wasn't expecting fine food at Navy Pier (never goin' back to Riva, that's for sure), but thought good food and good music might be OK. The music was, in fact, very good (Irwin Helfer and friends). I decided to try the jambalaya and got a bowl of dreadful slop consisting mostly of rice and what tasted like red pasta sauce with chunks of canned tomatoes. The only redeeming quality was good, hot sausage. Is the BBQ there good enough to make it worth the trip for the music?
