The easiest way to get there on public transportation from Davis is to take the Evanston line from Davis to Howard, then a Howard-Dan Ryan train to the Loyola stop. Get off, go downstairs, and get on the south-bound 155 Devon bus. Get off a block or so west of Western and you are in the middle of the strip. I recommend the Hyderabad restaurant, Woodlands of Madras, and Udupi Palace. Many places have lunch buffets for 5.95 and dinner buffets for 6.95. -- Charles E. Craig University Computer Center Internet: [email removed] Northwestern University "Mayonnaise is the Stuff of Life." ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anyway, there are lots of Indian restraints up on Devon Ave, near Western. My favorite is Sher-A-Punjab, which has a great, inexpensive buffet dinner that comes with naan and tandoori. Jake. Woodlands of Madras is one of the best ones. Its all vegetarian, the decor is very nice, and the food is great. I usually get the buffet, because that way I can sample a bit of everything. Its on Devon, a block or two east of Western. -- Nava Cohen [email removed] > Woodlands of Madras is one of the best ones. I went there once and decided that the food was too heavy for me. Although it's vegeterian, it was too much fried/greasy stuff for me. I prefer going to Viceroy of India. I think Woodlands is southern and Viceroy is northern (indian) food. Viceroy has some very good lamb dishes.
