I pass by the House of Sushi and Noodles often and have never stopped in. After reading the posts, all positive, we decided to stop in. It was good, not Kamehachi, Matsuya, Kuni's or Sea Ranch, but good and very inexpensive. By the way, Sea Ranch in Arlington Heights moved, the fish store portion that is, the cafe/restaurant is still in the same location. The clientele made for good people watching the service was excellent, tea and water were constantly refilled and the owner and manager each asked us how we were enjoying ourselves a number of times. We opted for the 10.95 sushi buffet, a misnomer as nigiri sushi is not included only sushi maki. This is not a buffet in the traditional sense, you pick the type and number of rolls that you wish to order and they are made up fresh. I would say for the money it is one of the best deals in Chicago, everything was good, fresh and the rice to fish ratio was not wildly out of proportion in an effort to save money. There was a table of 10 young Japanese/American men diving through huge platters of maki as if they had just finished swimming the English Channel. The owner seemed to really enjoy this and was encouraging them to order more, as if they needed encouragement. I will be back, but not for the maki buffet, I simply ate too much and I like nigiri and sashimi better. They also serve teriyaki, udon etc and have a few Thai and Chinese dishes. All in all I liked the place, not much to look at when you walk in, but everything is fresh, reasonable prices, good food and excellent service, what's not to like?
