Greek Dining

I have seldom gone to others in the last number of years because I like it so much so there may be new or improved restaurants with which I am not familiar, but in the past, whenever I've tried a different Greek restaurant, I have always been a little disappointed. Others may have a quieter and/or more intimate atmosphere, it's been a long time and I don't remember now, but the Greek Islands has the best food. Gene
Greektown is an area of Halsted street (800West) that stretches from about Madison to Jackson and is sbout 8 blocks west of the Loop. >Can you give me a rough idea of where Greektown is and what MTA stop to use? > >Thanks, > >Gordon in Texas >Mark S. wrote: >> My favorite has to be Roditty's in Greektown. It's a short ride on the Jackson Street bus (runs west on Adams I think) or the westbound Dearborn street subway. Get off at the UIC/Halsted stop and walk north on Halsted. Perhaps because they make you wait for hours for a table and override you and give tables to people who come after you? Excellent food notwithstanding, their service needs improvement. I prefer to eat Greek Food at Periyali's in Niles (on Milwaukee, 1/2 block north of Golf Road). The service is friendly, food is excellent and the staff is helpful. This past Friday, we had dinner there. Excellent meal ... like usual. - S.
I have eaten at Periyali's in Niles, and the food was good, the service was great, however the food was not as good as Parthenon...That's just my opinion. No one has mentionned Santorini's - excellent for seafood (Adams and Halsted).
