I think it must be near 94 at Half Day.

Portillo's on 60 in Vernon Hills for hot dogs. Also on 60 a little
further west is the the Silk Mandarin for much better than average Chinese.

Next to Walker's is a new place called Carlucci's. It was listed as one
of the top new places for 2001. I haven't been yet but the reviews have been very good. A little further north on 21 at Old Half Day is Flatlanders Brewery, some good micro brews and better than average food. Also in the same little shopping area is the Egg Harbor cafe which has great breakfasts and lunches.

      Sushi Kushi Toyo
      825 S. Waukegan Road
        Lake Forest

This is one of the best sushi places in the Chicago area.

So much there is new; all that my relatives (who all live around there) could talk about for two years was how f***ked up the developer of the new downtown was.

BTW, one of the new restaurants there is a Chipoltle. They don't advertise it, but they are owned by McDonalds.

A Chinese take-out place that has been in Deerfield forever is Don the Cantonese Chef, on Deerfield Rd. I think it was opened by John Kinzie "Indian" Clark back in the Nineteenth Century, it's so old.

On Waukegan Rd just north of 94, there's a good Jewish diner. Don't remember the name, but its in the same plaza as Trader Joes.

At Waukegan Rd and Lake-Cook, sw corner, there's a good German restaurant named Kuhns.

For steaks, Weber Grill is located on milwaukee ave just north of lake-cook. Haven't been there, but they have been around for a long time.
