I don't remember if they had music, but four of us enjoyed our meal here a couple of years ago. From Metromix:

 Simplon Orient Express
 4520 N. Lincoln Ave.
 773-275-5522

Simplon's Orient Express takes you on a gastronomic journey from
Paris to Istanbul without leaving Lincoln Square by featuring
dishes from the 11 countries through which the original (1906-1977)
Orient Express passed. Reflecting the ownership of the restaurant,
seven Serbian dishes are also served. If you don't feel like
alighting from the train at any single station, you can order
the Simplon family-style dinner, which includes moussaka, grilled
cevapcici (sausage) and raznjici (pork tenderloin) shish kabob.
There are also salads, desserts and strong coffees.

 Hours: 4 p.m.-2 a.m. Monday through Saturday, noon-midnight Sunday

Haven't been there in a while, but Paprikash used to have a fiddler and a cimbalom player on Friday and Saturday nights. The food (Hungarian) is great, and they have a full bar with a good selection of Hungarian wines. Decor is classy, but the prices won't leave you weeping. It's not a huge place, though, so make reservations when bringing a group.

I think if you're more specific about what you mean by 'ehtnic' or what you're looking for in dinner, you'll get a lot more good suggestions. Since the only ethnicity you mention is Serbian, I'd suggest Skadarlija or Serbian Village Restaurant. They both have live Serbian music (most nights, anyway--you should probably call ahead), and the food is good in both. They're both on Kedzie, north of Irving Park.

On weekends, Little Bucharest, the Romanian place on Ashland/Wellington (the sign seems to read "Euro Wine Bar" now, but nothing else about the place has apparently changed), has those roving musicians that come around to your table and extort money for them to leave you alone. But the music is good, kinda Gypsy/Eastern European violin + plucked strings, IIRC.

This is the place that offers the free limo rides, which I think must be a way for the owner to write off having a private driver as a business expense. The couple times we've been there, the driver is sitting at the bar getting wasted while the hostess tells numerous interested callers that he's out on a run.
