You might try Hi Ricky on the 3600 block of Southport, excellent
pan-Asian (great satay and noodles and curries), good service, cheap,
BYOP, can be noisy and crowded in the mid to later evening.

Also Bistro Zinc on the 3400 block of Southport for great casual French.
They might take reservations. It also can get crowded. Call for the
special of the day. Friday is boulibaisse

There's also a good Italian restaurant, Strega Nona, between the theatre and the Music
 Box.

Actually if you get there early enough you can walk up and down between
3400 N. and 3700 N. and find a lot of restaurants to choose from. Also interesting
 stores to browse in.
